Welcome!

Welcome!

This is my blog for TR 410 - Advanced Costume Technology

For this class, I built a period 1700's costume. I started with a designer's rendering and completed every step myself with the help of my instructor, Susan O'Neill.

The final product was worn during Seton Hill University's production of The Way of the World in November 2010.

The costume was designed by Karen Gilmer.

Fashion Fabric attached and pocket flaps

In these photos, pocket flaps are attached to the side seams. These pocket flaps will hold the grommets for the back closure. During fittings, the designer decided that the shape we were using for the pockets would be perfect for this process so I created two extra pocket flaps and sewed them into the back of the garment.
